The Young Historian Essay Competition is a nation-wide writing competition that offers young people a platform to write and publish their work.

We would like to invite local students and Singaporeans below the age of 26 are invited to submit an essay for this competition.

In conjunction with the 70^th Anniversary of the Fall of Singapore in 2012, the competition will be based on the theme of the Academic Conference held on 16 February 2012:

                          “The Causes and Impact of the Fall of Singapore”

A selection of the best essays may, at the discretion of the Organisers, be published in a book along with the papers presented by the speakers at the Academic Conference.  The book will be launched on 8 December 2012, which is the anniversary of the attack on Singapore in 1941.
