4.      On which days will the trails be conducted?

The trails will be conducted on all days of the week, subject to availability. There are two slots to choose from – (a) morning and (b) afternoon.

5.      Will transportation be provided?

Transportation will be provided for all schools going on the trails, unless specified otherwise. A coach will pick the students up from school at the beginning of the trail, and return them to school at the end of the trail.

6.      What should we expect on the trails?

First and foremost, expect to walk the entire length of the trail. There will not be any transportation between stops unless absolutely necessary. Second, you can expect to hear enthralling stories of this country as you visit numerous sites of significance along the way.

7.      How fit do I have to be to walk the trails?

Difficulty level (of the trails): Easy to moderate

The trails are, for the most part, on fairly even ground. There are some slightly steep ascents and descents (especially for Trail 2 - Ridges of Valour: Of Guts, Grit and Glory™) but you should be able to overcome them if you are moderately fit.

Nonetheless, we would advise anyone with long-standing illnesses or those with a history of health problems, not to go on the trails.

8.      What should I wear/bring when I go on a trail?

Be sure to dress in light comfortable clothes and walking shoes. Also, if you can, please bring along a hat, poncho/umbrella, sunscreen, insect repellent and lots of water.

Note to teachers: please inform students not to bring their school bags with them when they go on the trails.

9.     What happens when it rains?

The Resilience Trails are meant to encourage resilience – we will continue with the trail even when it rains. However, we will stop in the event of thunderstorm/lightning. In this situation, depending on the length of the trail and the progress you have made along the way, the trail will either be cancelled or postponed to another day.

10.     Will the students be given reading materials during the trail?

As of now, the students will be given challenge sheets for The Temasek Trail: Story of a Nation™, Ridges of Valour: Of Guts, Grit and Glory™ and Changi Crossroads: A Trek Through Time™.
